Our May group project over at Clear and Simple Stamps is to create both a masculine and feminine project using the same stamp set.
With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday and Father's Day next month, I thought I'd use the Flowers set to make cards for both of my parents. Looking at these, I don't think you would even realize they came from the same stamp set! I just love all the different elements and possibilities this set has.
For my Father's Day card, I used a kraft base, added a dark brown layer with a pierced border, and then a little brown/white twine for contrast.
Those trees are so much fun to mix and match from the set. I stamped two different bottoms and mixed three of the different tops to make them.
And for interest, I added just a tiny bit of shadowing under each tree trunk using my Copic N1. I think it adds just the perfect amount of depth and really brings them to life.
