Good morning and happy Friday! I decided to play along in the sketch challenge on SCS this week and the color throwdown, mostly because I don't use purple enough!

My base is PTI white. I pierced a little corner on PTI spring moss cardstock using my Ecstasy Large Corners & Borders piercing template and paper piercer. The purple layer is PTI plum pudding. The flower stamps are Verve's Because of You set stamped in Palette Violete ink. It's an almost exact match for PTI's plum pudding!



My ruffled ribbon in aqua was from my stash. Then I used PTI's borders & corners mongram and mongram sets to stamp the little medallion and popped it up on dimensionals. I used my circle nestabilities to cut it out. The scalloped border along the bottom of my image panel was made using Fiskars cloud decorative edge scissors.

It's Tuesday and that means we're one day closer to the weekend! {wink}

I'm in a happy mood this morning even though it's dark and snowy outside. You want to know why? I picked up a daylight spectrum lightbulb for my desk lamp and I can finally take decent photos of my cards even when it's dark out! So happy about that.

I thought I'd play along with the sketch this week over on Unscripted Sketches. I was in a pink mood so I pulled out my pink scrap file and dug in. I cut all these bits down to 1" square and made a little scrappy quilt out of them. There's some scraps from My Mind's Eye Bellezo, My Mind's Eye Play Picnic Basket, Basic Grey, and October Afternoon in there.

I faux-stitched around the edge of my quilt using my paper piercer and Copic multiliner.



In the bottom-right corner I stamped the box outline from Schlosser Designs Outside the Box set in Palette Belle Rose ink. Then I stamped the little flower on a piece of scrap white cardstock in the same ink, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.

I topped the whole thing off with a pink button and made a little bow out of white embroidery floss. The sentiment is from the Schlosser Designs Outside the Box set. I used a little Eclipse masking tape to mask off the sides and top box portion. Just love how this turned out!

Here's my card for this week's sketch over on Card Patterns. Michelle has offered up a fabulous prize so we hope you'll play along with us. And as always, if you enter you have a chance to be a guest designer on the blog.

My dad's birthday is coming up in another week or so, so this card is for him. My base is PTI kraft cut and folded to 5.25" square. My decorative paper is Sweet Cakes from Pink Paislee. It's been sitting in my stash for way too long. I'm finally making some progress on my mini studio re-do and I reorganized my 12x12 paper in the progress. So I promised myself I'd actually use some of it! [Don't worry, I'll share photos with you when I'm finally finished with the studio!]



My image is Unity's You're a Star stamped in Palette Burnt Umber ink. I used my Sakura Gold Star and Copper Star stardust pens to color in parts of the image. Then cut the entire thing out and mounted it on dimensionals for a little pop.

To finish the card off I added a few strands of twine that I glued along the left-hand side of my base for interest. And my base layer of the sketch was actually cheated and drawn in with my Inkssentials white pen. I LOVE that thing!

I read so many posts on SCS and blogs of people wanting to know which white pen is the best. I prefer this to SU's white pen because I found this doesn't clog at all. And when I'm writing it comes out smooth and doesn't glop at all on my work, which is important to me. It's on sale now, too, in case you were wanting to buy it!

Happy Friday! This morning I have my first ever challenge for Crop Suey to share with you. I hope you'll stop by the blog to see what the other girls cooked up! I was browsing through the DT forum the other night and there are some amazing projects!

The theme for the first challenge is friendship. You can interpret this in any way you see fit. I chose to make a pair of earrings to give as a gift, perhaps to a friend to say thank you. My earrings are made from Czech fire-polished glass beads, rhinestone rhondelles, and Swarovski pearls.



I used my silhouette to cut out the box out of a piece of PTI vintage cream cardstock. The leaf image is from Unity's October store kit of the month stamped in Palette Burnt Umber ink. The ribbon is chocolate satin from my stash.



I made a tiny notecard to go along with the earrings. It's 3" square. I used the same leaf stamp. The quote is from Unity's Everyday Adorable kit stamped in Palette Burnt Umber ink. I popped it up on dimensionals for more interest.



And here's a not-so-great photo of the set together. I used a piece of acetate to cover the hole I cut in my box with my square nestabilities.

Good morning! It's time again for our i {heart} papers monthly challenge! This month Deb challenged us all to use these fabulous 4x6" calendar cases.

Since I had so much fun last year making a quarterly calendar in one of these cases I thought I'd do something a bit different this time and make a monthly calendar. This way I can add notes about deadlines and birthdays and what-not.

All of the decorative paper I used is from My Mind's Eye Be Loved collection. I printed the calendar out from a template I found online through my Open Office software.



I matted my little calendar on a piece of decorative paper from the collection in the kit. Then mounted the entire thing on dimensionals for a little pop. I used a heart punch to cut two hearts out and added them to the top right of my calendar. Then made an accent out of a piece from the collection, a toothpick, and some ribbon. Of course I added some sparkle with my Copic Spica clear glitter pen.

February Calendar Recipe

Good morning! I'm happy to share my Card Patterns card with you this morning. Nina is offering up one of her fabulous sets as the prize this week, so we hope you'll play along with us!

My base is PTI white. I stamped some flowers from Unity's May 2009 kit of the month in Versamagic Purple Hydrangea ink. Then mounted that panel on a piece of PTI plum pudding cardstock.



To finish my card off, I added two loops of PTI plum pudding twill ribbon under the left of my image panel. Then pierced a loopy little trail along the right-hand side of my card (which is, of course, pretty hard to catch in a decent photograph).

Hope it tickles!
