Winter Calendar

I saw this cute winter Calendar yesterday while surfing online and knew I had to recreate it.

My friend Bev sent me a couple of cd calendar cases last month so I decided to alter the calendar to fit inside. I started with a piece of PTI Chocolate cardstock cut to 4" by 6". I used my Megabilities curved rectangle nestabilities to cut out a piece of decorative paper (Frost by Memory Box). Then layered my calendar section over that.



The ribbon slide was cut out with my ribbon tags trio. I stamped the word winter from PTI's Made of Snow set with Palette reflection blue ink. Then attached it to my calendar with a piece of white organza ribbon from my stash.

Can I just tell you how much I adore Palette inks? They're hybrid which means you can stamp on paper, fabric, wood, metal, etc. and NOT have to worry about which ink to use. It'll work on everything. If you're going to stamp on a non-porous surface, just heat set it to make sure it's permanent. Kate over at i {heart} papers has the FULL line of Palette inks at a great price!

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program. {wink} I finished my calendar off with some bling, because what project is complete without a little sparkle? I used some self-adhesive clear gemstones on either side of my calendar title, then added one to the center of my flower accent. I also used my Copic Spica clear glitter pen to outline all of the snowflakes on the paper and added a dot of Stardust Stickles to the center of each one.

This has a lot of sparkle and shimmer in person. Plus all the frosty blues really make it look wintery! I plan on using the back of this to keep track of my deadlines for articles and DT projects, plus birthdays and whatever else comes up! That way, it's always on my desk and I don't have to turn my computer on to get to that info.
