An Apple a Day...

Well we are in for one gorgeous day today! I hope you are all enjoying summer so far! I know it's been quite rainy here, so we're taking advantage of these sunny days as much as we can. Tonight we have beach volleyball and then I'm hoping to work in the garden afterwards.

Here's a cute little card I whipped up last night, while watching the rain fall from my studio. The layout is for this week's sketch over on Unscripted Sketches. I combined that with Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge.

My card base is PTI white cardstock. I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder to add some texture a la the amazingly talented Danni. The decorative paper is October Afternoon. I used my Labels One Nestabilities to cut the shape out of it. Then used my Silhouette to cut out an apple shape out of red cardstock.

Yep, that's right- I got sucked in to the die cutting craze. I've been saving my pennies since the beginning of the year for one and managed to get a really great price on the new SD model on Ebay. I've only used it a few times so far but it's amazing!!



Ok, back to the card! {wink} I assembled my apple and popped it up on dimensionals. To finish the card off, I added one pink button that I ran some twine through. I find these buttons don't stick very well with glue dots when I've tied ribbon or twine through them. So a little dab of Glossy Accents does the trick. Just be sure to give your card time to dry.
