Candy Cane

Candy cane anyone? I'm not much of a candy cane fan- eating them, that is. But this one is just adorable! My friend Clare recently starting selling her own stamps and I just could not resist! I considered it an early holiday gift for myself. {wink}

Anyways, I made this card for this week's sketch over on Unscripted Sketches.

My base is PTI white. I stamped the little candy cane once on a white panel in Palette Noir ink. Then again on a scrap of white cardstock. I colored both in, cut out the red and white version, and layered it over the first layer with dimensionals. I pierced a little border around the entire panel for more interest.



I debated for what seemed like ages about whether or not to faux-stitch those pierced holes. But in the end, I decided to leave them the way they were for something different

I finished the card off with a band of PTI spring moss twill ribbon for a slightly-out-of-the-ordinary color combination. And I used my Copic Spica clear glitter pen to add some sparkle to the candy cane.
