This time of the year is always a really busy one garden-wise. It seems like there is something new blooming almost every day I walk outside. I've been snapping a lot of photos lately and I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you, if you don't mind.
This is Crimson Pirate, a spider daylily. Although, if you compare my photo to the one in the link, you'll notice mine looks more like a standard variety! But I purchased it from that retailer two years ago. Either way, I still love the true red petals. She is putting on quite a show with 10+ blooms each day.
One of my favourite true lilies, this is Henryii. I love the pale, delicate orange color and texture on each upturned petal. Such an interesting flower to add to the garden! Not to mention, extremely hardy and easy to please. It doesn't get much better than that.
Lastly (for today anyway), is lilium Black Beauty. She's in her fourth season for me and I have 25 or more flowers on each stalk. An amazing show, I just can't even explain it! [All the pink in the background of this photo are flowers from this same stalk, just to give you an idea.]
And another true lily that is hardy and easy to please. I love these kinds of plants in the garden.
