I hope your weekend was a great one! I have a few more gardening shots to share with you of things that are still popping.
This is
Mona Lisa, an oriental lily. She resembles
Stargazer, except is a bit shorter and earlier to bloom. Plus the coloration on the petals is a little different. Still just as fragrant though!
I grew this
Liatris from seed many years ago from a gardening friend in Portugal, of all places! I brought her when we moved into our house and am so happy that she is doing well now. I have about a dozen flower spikes in full bloom.
The bees and butterflies really love her, too.
Lastly, this is
Hal's Pink daylily. Her petals are two-toned pink with a nice yellow throat. I love the contrast of the black anthers against the soft pink petals!
I like to plant daylilies in between other perennials, especially hostas, to add a punch of color this time of year. They're so carefree and low-maintenance, you just can't go wrong.
