SFYTT

I'm not one for lots of layers, especially wonky off-kilter layers. So I have to admit that when I saw this month's SFYTT I was stumped. How was I going to make this work?

I decided to try a clean and simple approach this time around and stamp and draw in those layers.



My sentiment comes from Paper Smooches Joyful Greetings set- it's adorable, don't you think?

I added some random bling, a little copic work, and called it a day.

The first Saturday of December means a new Sketch For You To Try.

We also have some sad news to share with you today- Jen has decided that this year will be the last for SFYTT. I've been honored to be a part of the team this past year and will miss playing along with all of these sketches. I hope you'll play along with us this last month!

I was a little liberal with my interpretation of this month's sketch. But all the elements are there! And I went a little vintage and used some new goodies I just got in.

I didn't realize it, but I guess I'm on a non-traditional color kick lately!

I was so inspired by Amy's first take on the sketch this month that I just had to CASE her for my second try.

I used some non-holiday paper in greens and creams. Then added a trio of trees from Lawn Fawn's Sweet Christmas set.



I added some snow to my trees with my white gel pen. Such a simple thing and I think it adds a nice touch.

The first Saturday in November brings a new Sketch For You To Try!

Here's this month's sketch- I love it! Clean and simple and with endless possibilities. Thanks to our November sponsor Sweet Stamp Shop.



When I saw the sketch, the first thing that popped into my mind was an ornament dangling. So I tried to recreate that with my card.

All of that yummy decorative paper is Winter Wonderland by My Mind's Eye. I cut 1" squares and made a little paper quilt up the right side to keep with the sketch.


I added some ruffle ribbon, a little twine, and a sentiment and called it a day. I kept everything fairly monochromatic, too- which I thought was fun for a holiday card.
