Happy Monday and happy September! I cannot believe the summer has flown by so quickly. Although, hopefully we still have another month or two of warm weather here before it starts to cool down.

This week over on Card Patterns we're lucky enough to be sponsored by the adorable Taylor~Made by JenMarie who sent us each some {ippity} stamps to play with.

My card base is PTI dark chocolate. The patterned paper is all October Afternoon that JenMarie sent along to us. I stamped that sweet little book image in Palette Burnt Umber ink then colored it in using my prismacolor pencils. I added some shimmer and sparkle with my Copic Spica chocolate & lemon glitter pen.

The rest of the card is pretty simple. I inked up the edges of my image using my Palette Burnt Umber ink for a more rustic, leathery, book-ish look. Then added a few blue satin ribbon loops on the right to go along with the sketch and pick up colors from the DP.

Morning and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Just a quick post this morning to share my card with you for this week's sketch over on Card Patterns. We're being sponsored by DRS Designs this week and each DT member got to play with some of their gorgeous rubber stamps on our cards.

My card base is PTI kraft. I used this HUGE pumpkin floral stamp on my card, stamped it in Palette Burnt Umber ink, then colored in with my prismacolor pencils. I love the look of prismas on kraft. It's so rustic and perfect for these fall cards!

I distressed the edges a bit, then mounted my image panel up on dimensionals for more interest. I added a bit of jute twine and trio of Champagne self-adhesive pearls. Then finished my card off with a little sparkle from my Copic Spica gold & chocolate glitter pens.

August Snapshots

My crafting isn't the only thing I've been neglecting with my busy work schedule lately; my poor garden has been lonely this month, too. But every day when I pull into the driveway, she still seems to greet me with a smile as if to say, "We miss you!" Here are a few snapshots of what's been blooming.

This is Helianthus multiflorus Flore Pleno. She's also called perennial sunflower and you can see why. Bright, cheery yellow flowers with foliage resembling that of the sunflower. She's been blooming non-stop for months with just a little dead-heading here and there and almost no supplemental watering.

Another star in my hot bed (which is what I call the garden in the front of my house, as I have only hot colors planted there- yellows, reds, and oranges) is my Rudbeckia hirta Cherry Brandy. I love the deep maroon color and the hairy foliage. It really adds a nice touch to the garden.

She's not supposed to be perennial, but has been coming back for me now for three years.

Lastly, one of my favourite perennials, Veronica longifolia Blue Giant. I always get a little sentimental when I see her blooming happily in the garden as she was one of the main flowers in my wedding bouquet, along with sunflowers (my favourites!). She always gets a bad case of powdery mildew for me, but this year she seems to be blooming right through it, not letting it phase her.

I caught a few bees happily pollinating while I was snapping the photo. Can you spot them?

Happy Monday! What a whirlwind of a day it was here. So busy at work I didn't even have a chance to pop on and make my Monday post for you all. Better late than never, right?

We had a free-for-all week over on Card Patterns which meant we got to use our own stash for our cards. My base is PTI kraft. That gorgeous decorative paper is October Afternoon's Thrift Shop. I faux-stitched it using my paper piercer and Copic Multiliner. Then distressed and sponged the edges for a more aged look.

That adorable birdcage and its resident are from My Cute Stamps Elegant Birds set. I stamped the cage in Palette Noir ink. Then the little bird was stamped right over the cage in Palette Beaux Arts Blue ink. I colored them both in with my prismacolor pencils and added some shimmer using my Copic Spica gold glitter pen. I finished the card off with a little sentiment tag and some aqua glimmer ribbon.

IHP August Challenge

It's time again for another i {heart} papers DT challenge! This month the theme is get organized. I'm taking this one to heart as my office at work is truly a disaster. I'm usually a very organized person, but we moved offices a few weeks back and I have yet to find time to unpack and clean up my office. I have piles of paper everywhere!

So I decided to make a few things to help me out at work. First, a little post-it note holder, because I can never seem to find my post-its these days. My desk set is a thin metal mesh (purchased at Target years ago). I used decorative paper from Memory Box's Jubilee collection on all of my projects. Nothing says office more than blue, yellow, and green to me!

I used my large scallop square nestabilities to cut the base out of my decorative paper. Then layered on a little faux-notebook paper. To attach the post-it notes, I simply used my X-acto knife to make a slit in the two base-layers, then slipped the post-it notes in. This way you can add more post-it notes when you run out!

I added a few magnets to the back of the base layer and the whole thing sticks like magic to my paper file! The magnets also make it super easy to take it off and refill when needed.

Next up, some inbox/outbox tags because every time I try and make a little headway at work with some of my piles, someone just dumps a huge pile of paperwork on my desk when I'm not looking! So if I label my bins I'm at least hoping they will read the tags and place things in the IN box. {wink}

I used the long scalloped rectangle nestabilities to cut out my base layer of DP. Then added more faux notebook paper. The IN is actually from Hero Arts Truly Appreciated set stamped in Palette Noir ink. I just masked off the rest of the letters in the word wishing to leave me with IN.

Along the same lines, here's a coordinating outbox tag. I used Hero Arts Arigato (sparkle clear) set for the OUT. I just masked off the last two letters of thank you and then added the T after that. Simple!

I added some staples and ink for a more office-friendly look. Plus I'm hoping this way no one will want to steal them! I added magnets on the back to make them stick to my bins and that's it.

Well happy Monday friends! So glad you could stop by and visit me, even though I've been neglecting this little blog of mine a bit lately.

This week we're being sponsored by Blackleaf Design over on Card Patterns. And the entire DT got to play with some of their digital sets on our cards.

My base is PTI kraft. That sweet decorative paper is all from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection. I love the sweet prints in this pad. It really does remind me of an afternoon spent rummaging through the racks at my local thrift stores. Of course you know I had to faux-stitch it using my paper piercer and Copic Multiliner.

I used this sweet clothesline image from the Baby Doodles stamp set and colored it in with my prismacolor pencils. I used my Copic Spica pink glitter pen to color in the heart on the jumper for a bit of sparkle.

I cut the image out using my long classic nestabilities and scalloped long classic nestabilities for the mat. Then finished my card off with a little sticker from SRM stickers and a few snips of white satin ribbon from my stash.
